Throughout history, religion has influenced many of our views about sexuality. Perhaps no single system of thought had as much impact on the Western world as Christianity, and nowhere more so than in its views on sexuality. We will explore early Christianity and the Middle Ages, and also look at the influence of Islam and Islamic law and the views of sexuality that developed during the Renaissance.
