European Comparison

According to Eurostat, the EU-25 average of computer usage (computer use on average once a week in the last three months) of women is 54 percent, and of men is 61.3 percent. These results differ between age groups: younger people are more active in using computers than older ones. In all age groups, however, the proportion of males exceeds that of females, although this difference is higher in the older age groups (Seibert, 2007; see Table 1).

The usage data also shows the same patterns with regard to age and sex for Germany and Greece. However, in all age groups, Germany is clearly above the European average, and Greece is below it.
