In 2007, Sex & the Psyche revealed a contemporary study of 19,000 British men and women of all orientations. Psychotherapist Brett Kahr found that pom is used by 90 per cent of men and 60 per cent of women, and online pom by 48 per cent of men and 9.5 per cent of women. The language used in answers by a substantial number of the men was less romantic and more pornographic. More men are unfaithful; women are less likely to have an orgasm. Spanking fantasies came from 18 per cent of men and 7 per cent of women, while 16 per cent of women and 4 per cent of men don’t fantasize. Of those that do, 28 per cent of women think about sex with two men, and 58 per cent of men think about bedding two women, while other topics included vampires and aliens. Only 3 per cent of people say they are gay, while 4 per cent are bi and 1 per cent aren’t sure.
