Kopano Ratele works in the Psychology Department at the University of Western Cape, South Africa, where he also teaches a course on culture, psychology and masculinity in the Women and Gender Studies Programme. He has written on masculinities, sexualities, interpersonal relationships and bodies.
Margrethe Silberschmidt is a social anthropologist who has carried out research in East Africa over the past twenty years. Her field of specialization includes sexual and reproductive health and behaviour with particular emphasis on HIV/AIDS, gender, gender focused methodologies and policy issues. She is an associate professor at the Department of Women and Gender Research in Medicine, Institute of Public Health, University of Copenhagen.
